Quick Editing & Export for Web

It's really easy to get bogged down in the minute details of editing your video, and take many times longer doing the edit than what's really necessary.

So let's simplify: do it in stages; multiple passes of editing.

The rough cut: just take your footage, cut out the bad takes, the spaces and the "ums" and "uhs" and get it flowing. This sets the pace and establishes the dialog they're going to hear. You can also add zoom effects on certain shots for emphasis as needed in this stage.
DO NOT keep rewatching your video every time you make an edit or adjustment. Fight the urge and just keep going and get through the whole thing. Then do a once-over at most.
Add your J-Cuts an L-Cuts and B-Roll footage and graphics.
Add any music and/or sound effects for maximum impact.
Add an adjustment track and perform color grading for the final touches.
Double-check that you have set the start and end locators correctly, and render your video to 1080p MP4 (which may be listed as H.264 in your software).
